in 2008 Italian Brand Guru was bought by Bombay Rayon Fashion Limited, an Indian giant listed on the Mumbai stock exchange, and one of the world’s most important textile producers, with more than 20 years of history and 30.000 employees. With BRFL’S acquisition, the company managed by brothers Prashant Agarwal (BRFL Managing Director) and Aman Agarwal (BRFL Executive Vice-Chairman) kick-starts GURU’s expansion on new Asian markets. The first GURU flagship store in Mumbai opens in September 2009. It’s a 160 sq. mt. area dedicated to the brand’s multi-faceted identity. The project is by award-winning firm Duccio Grassi Architects, who have also curated the project of the other big opening in the same year: Rome.
From the 'Daisy' to a total look, from consolidation to international distribution, from a simple intuition to a structured marketing approach. The Daisy evolves the contemporary style. Guru has been growing exponentially starting operations in Asia with its store in Mumbai in 2009.
